May 21st - June 14th

Open House Saturday, May 24th, 4 - 6

Finally, with much anticipation, we’re pleased to open our 2025 season with a compelling dual exhibition of shape and color, featuring abstract art by both ceramicist Justin Rothshank and painter Jason Hatcher. On view from May 21 through June 14, this show offers a vibrant and uplifting dialogue between form and hue across two distinct yet harmonizing artistic practices.

Justin Rothshank’s ceramics present a contemporary reimagining of functional pottery. His surfaces – rich and layered decals, varying techniques, and organic motifs – transform everyday forms into thoughtful reflections on culture, beauty, and use. Rothshank’s ability to balance intricate imagery with classical shapes gives his work a sense of both familiarity and surprise.

Jason Hatcher’s abstract paintings explore geometry, gesture, and saturated color. His compositions strike a balance between control and spontaneity, offering rhythmic arrangements that evoke movement, tension, and stillness. With a painterly focus on spatial relationships and chromatic energy, Hatcher invites viewers into a visual space that feels at once grounded and expansive.

Together, Rothshank and Hatcher explore the expressive possibilities of Shape & Color, inviting viewers to experience how form and hue can transcend medium and speak to the emotional and structural core of artmaking.

Please join us for an open house artists reception on Saturday, May 24th, from 4 - 6 PM, to meet the artists and celebrate the start of a new season of creativity and connection.
