“I strive to find a balance between chaos and control in my work.”
-
In what he calls “a balance between chaos and control,” Tyler Swain creates a unique combination of well-developed abstracts with simple yet realistic motifs gracing their surfaces.
The Utah artist is expanding his horizons to paint subjects that are native to Appalachia like the dogwood branches and longleaf pines. The challenge to paint subjects he is unfamiliar with falls in line with the duality in his work, finding inspiration in between the familiar and the abstract. The Blue Ridge has become a great source of inspiration. Usually working on small canvases and panels, his pieces nestle into their surroundings as if they were always meant to be there.
